A plaque bearing the names of Tabitha Loftis, Stephano Mazzotti and Stefan "Basha" Snyder hangs outside a busy hallway at Marywood-Palm Valley School in Rancho Mirage, meant to serve as a memorial and daily reminder of the three teens killed after leaving the campus on September 24, 2007.
Years later, the plaque is a sobering reminder that getting behind the wheel of an automobile is serious business. The tragedy and its effect on the students moved one parent to insure this would be the last plaque of its kind to hang in the school. Chad McQueen realized that newly-licensed teens needed better driving instruction. He then started to make some calls. One year after the fatal accident, McQueen initiated a driving course for young teens in the Coachella Valley.
The Wheels on Reels Film Festival was conducted in 2009 to promote auto dealerships in the Cathedral City Auto Mall and finance a driving clinic for newly-licensed teen drivers in the Coachella Valley. Bernadine Bogdanovs-Naggs, served as the Festival Director.
In 2008, Palm Springs Desktop was asked to assist with the inaugural Desert Classic Concours d'Elegance at the O'Donnell Golf Course in Palm Springs. Palm Springs Desktop obtained sponsorships and program advertising, wrote and distributed press releases announcing the event to the automotive community in Southern California and sought automobiles for entry..

"As parents, we have an obligation to make certain that our kids are prepared to handle every situation they might encounter when they get behind the wheel of a car. With improved driving courses for teens, we can prevent tragedies like those that took these three beautiful kids. And that is the purpose for our teen driving program."
